American River Rafting

Great time was had by all! In July,  a group of us drove to Georgetown, between Placerville and Auburn in the foothills.  Twenty of us went white water rafting…………what fun.  We stayed in a historic B&B in the heart of town and took over the hotel.  Most went rafting, some went exploring and others went wine tasting.  For more pics, go to the top of this page and click on “Monterey Club Photos”.

September 10, 2010 5:00 PMtoSeptember 12, 2010 12:00 PM

Hello Fellow Campers and Day Trippers, Our weekend of fun in the lovely environs of Big Sur is only a few days away.  I have not heard from many people about coming to the BBQ on Saturday afternoon or joining us for dinner on Friday.  Please send me an email at golfrrunr@yahoo.com to tell me of your plans to join us on Sept 10, 11 or 12 or all 3 days.  There is still room for a tent camper or two!

As I mentioned in my last note, this year I am asking each camper and day tripper for a contribution of $5 toward the food.  I will purchase the basics for both breakfast meals and the BBQ.  The rest I will ask for volunteers to bring.  Things such as cooking utensils, paper goods, etc.

I have emailed the list of things to bring to the membership but will also be at the meeting on the 8th for those that do not contact me via email.

To help you decide what to bring for sides, appetizer and desserts here is the basic menu:

Breakfast:  Pancakes, bacon, eggs
BBQ:  Hamburgers (Beef and Turkey) and Hot dogs/Sausages

Remember when planning!!  Bring ready-to-serve appetizers, sides, salads and desserts as the cooking facilities are limited at best.
