NISEI Ski club was great to MSSC on their Ski Trips – We Gave back!

There were 5 of us who drove to Japantown in San Jose this last Sunday and helped with the Nisei Ski Club fund raiser. We had a great time helping the club sell Chicken Salad to raise money to cover the cost of the ski trips this ski season. Those of us who had the time to volunteer for a couple of hours were…JoAnn Wilson, Pam Hampton, Rhonda Stieglitz, Rich Hughett and me, Joan Lathrop. The club was so appreciative of us being there. We enjoyed the day…meeting their members and seeing those skiers we had met on the ski trips. Fun was had by all!!!

Wednesday, August 11^th – 15^th – Pebble Beach Concours d’elegance – Retro Auto Tent Your 8 volunteer hours will help support FNM and you will get a Retro Concours VEST- they will be red this year and there are women and men’s and a Concours ticket. A GREAT time was had by all! Thanks to the Nisei Ski Club and their bus that provided our transportation, food and all arrangements for 2 wonderful weekends.

The Carmel Chamber of Commerce hosts many Ribbon Cutting events that are FREE to attend, most will have food and drinks, so come and join other ski club members since the club is a member of this chamber.  The events are for new businesses opening, or moving, or celebrating anniversaries and run from 5-6:30.

–Sept. 8th–David Lyng Real Estate, Lincoln between Ocean & 7th, they are a new chamber member.

–Sept. 22nd–Nielson Brother Market & Deli, San Carlos @ 7th, celebrate their 80th anniversary.

What a great time at Connie Perry’s gorgeous Seaside home.   The weather was delightful, the views of Monterey Bay from Connie’s decks were spectacular and WOW was there food!  Plenty of food – from appetizers to desserts, drinks, lots of  great conversation – mostly during the commercials (!) and, dare I say a bit of ‘gambling’ – with Dr. Bruce winning $150 and not sharing even one dime!

There were Saints and Colts fans mixed in and the Saints definately came ‘marching in’!
